Self Examination
Self Examination (February):
1. Fasting and prayer
- Identify enemy strongholds over our city and region.
- Divide our city into 7 quadrants and pray for insight into the needs of each quadrant.
- Focus Saturday night prayer towards the city and surrounding region.
- Call for a 7 day church fast February 16-22 ending with communion on February 22.
2. Repentance – (get your heart right before God.)
- Each member takes time to seek God concerning personal compromises.
- Allow God to show you areas of your personal life that needs to be submitted to Him and changed by Him.
- Allow God to open your eyes to items (i.e. CD’s, DVD’s, videos, cigarettes, drugs, etc), materials (i.e. books, magazines, etc), Idols (i.e. Buddha statues, Hindu Statues, Virgin Mary Statues, or any other graven image that is carved for worship) that needs to be removed from your home and disposed of.
- Apply personal discipline in areas of personal daily bible reading, prayer and worship.
- Make time to get your home in order (Be sure it’s clean of debris and trash inside and out. Be sure the house is clean, dusted, mopped and things put up in assigned areas).
- Make every effort to attend every Sunday morning service, Saturday night prayer service, and a City Group each week.
- Reconcile with any individual or member you may have offense with or may have offense with you, and commit to pray for them, speak kindly of them and to them.
3. Unit Allies – (Firing up “Church in the City”)
- Identify each local church Pastor by name.
- Reach out to Pastors in the city with a personal invitation to a prayer service scheduled for a later date.
- Begin to research what each local church provides as ongoing outreach to the city and surrounding area.
- Diligently communicate the burden of Christ’s heart for the city.
- Be alert and aware of other believers in the community who desire to become active in reaching this city, but may not have a church family that is. Invite them to your City Group or Saturday Night prayer.
